CALVES
A smaller show than last week with many young calves.
Trade was certainly favouring younger calves with them looking dearer than the older end. Topping todays trade was from Messrs Robinson, Crosshill with a Blue Heifer to £940.
Limousin calves were of quality selection today, with a top price of £840 from D & M Foster, Church Farm.
The bulk of the sale would comprise of Blue calves averaging £660, and Angus averaging £620.
Friesians were few in number today but were a very good trade none the less, with an average of £375.
Hereford cross calves were also a strong trade with an average of £460 and a top price of £490 from JE & SM Seedall.
